Matendo's Story
Future of Hope
After fleeing their home in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Matendo and his family spent seven years in a refugee camp in Malawi before coming to the U.S.
They settled in Fayetteville, Arkansas where our partner Canopy NWA helped the family find housing, transportation, and resources needed to make their new home feel like one. Today, Matendo and his family are proud U.S. citizens, homeowners, and active members of their welcoming Northwest Arkansas community.
